Hey, you know how the full title is that whole thing at the top of this post? Well the proper translation of it is “The Children of the Whale Sing Above the Sand”. Also the encode is so big because there’s a sandstorm the whole time.

Just curious here, how does these effects (sandstorms, stars, universe appearance) actually affect encoding size? Always been wondering about that ever.
@waowao – Video codecs generally will draw a keyframe and then only update the parts of the frame that change for several seconds. When you have lots of shit flying all over the place there are a lot more changes to store and keyframes will also likely be needed more often.
