Akari and Aika’s ancestors!

Whoa, where’d this come from?! I finally found the time and motivation to get this done (cough cough season 2), and I forgot just how much I loved this show somehow. Other subs have been out for this for a long time, so this is really just for my own selfish benefit and the feeling of accomplishment, but if you haven’t seen it yet or have been waiting, then please enjoy! Tomorrow we’ll be working on the new season, and from here on out we’ll try to get it done on the date of airing.

An endlessly vast world filled to the brim with fun is out there. What are you waiting for?

Thus ends another chapter in our subbing and anime lives. Did you enjoy this world of Amano Kozue? Unlike Aria, everything here is possible right now, and not just in hundreds of years. I believe the series speaks for itself, so there isn’t too much to say. We’ll see you soon for more Wixoss and Anitore.

Apparently Mato-chan-sensei teaches world history, whether she mentioned it earlier or not. This episode you can see her giving a lecture on the Renaissance. This is also a very educational episode about how to care for a kitten, and there’s a bit of a reveal regarding the club’s beloved advisor. Those familiar with Amano shouldn’t be surprised.

we do not so much need the help of our friends as the confidence of their help in need

Summer’s slowly but surely coming to an end here. There’s nothing like the wistfulness of looking out the window and watching the last days of summer fade away while you’re stuck at your desk.

Akatsukin: Do you remember what Pikari’s real name means? I’m sure you’ll be able to figure it out. And have you ever felt lost before? How did you handle it? Perhaps by episode’s end you’ll have learned to see those times in a new light.

heard you talk shit about asenshi

I tried a track start off the starting block yesterday, my first one in a long while. But I botched it and hit the water hard. I don’t think I’ll try a track start again. My backstroke start is really nice, though. There’s something special about gliding just underneath the surface of the water and looking up.

What a handsome youth

What a handsome youth

It’s beautiful how each episode is constructed to further a single simple yet poignant theme, especially taking into consideration it’s drawing from a pool of already written chapters. It’s elegant and beautiful.

don’t shoot, officer! we’re white!

It was raining in Amanchu!, it was raining outside, and it was raining in my heart. Weekend’s almost over again.

Did you notice that Katori-sensei gets a lot of very favorable shots in the anime? Might just be my christmas cake fetish, though. In any case, I’m certainly not complaining.

Akatsukin: I mean, I wasn’t going to say anything, but since you gave me space… It’s Mato-chan-sensei. Oh, and I expect you to know what “baka” means. Seriously.

i wish that senpai notices me

I swim some five to eight kilometers a week, but I currently don’t have the time to follow my routine and that makes me a bit sad, even more so when I sub this show. I guess it can’t be helped.

Akatsukin: Notes! Pokoten seems to be a reference to this song, which sort of makes sense. Information about Ai-chan and the happiness ribbons can be found on this site as well. In reality, red means victory, and pink means love. I think they were chosen appropriately.

To denounce the evils of Truth and Love

To denounce the evils of Truth and Love

Whoa, notes. Bet you never expected to see them on this side of my work. “Tawashi” is a very specific type of Japanese brush, which you can easily Google. Spring bloom is called something more like “spring murkiness” in Japanese, and that’s the term you’re familiar with if you’ve read the manga, but it does actually have a real English equivalent. And that thing they call the inflator? It actually also deflates, making it one of those half-correct loanwords.

btw their names mean truth and love.
