This is my first Ikuhara series and while I’m sure I missed many of the finer points, I hope I got the broader ones. Overall I enjoyed it and I thank you all for the lovely experience!
Out of curiosity, how would you guys rate all the Ikuhara shows? I’m curious about Utena and Penguindrum, less so about Yurikuma.
I recommend them all, including Yuri Kuma. If you’re up for it, go for Utena first. Just be aware that there is much, much more repetition in it, but it’s the best example of pure Ikuhara. If you don’t feel ready, Penguindrum has the modern anime feel and will get you your fix too. Personally I found Sarazanmai the weakest of them all, but it had its good points, so if you liked this you’ll love the others.
