I can’t believe this. That one wasn’t even a typo: I just actually thought that the past participle of ‘tread’ was ‘tread’. I still think that, although apparently every dictionary under the sun (except Wiktionary, which I shouldn’t trust (for what it’s worth, it says it’s US, which would be accurate)) lists it as ‘trodden’ or ‘trod’. It’s unbelievable. I feel like I’m losing my mind.
Most prescriptively we’d have tread/trod/trodden, but my ears seem to think tread/tread/tread is perfectly fine (maybe by analogy with ‘read’, which doesn’t even have the same vowel (cf. head, which does, but I wouldn’t use ‘head’ as the past tense))?!
As far as “loading” the passenger pod, it seems pretty accurate to me.
The pilots are also exposed to the digestive systems of the OTFs, so why wouldn’t the passenger pod be?
And the C-130 does have a pretty large loading bay at the rear.
If Futomomo were camouflaged as the Antonov An-225 it could’ve had the pod on the back like a space shuttle – but where’s the fun in that?
Got a teeny mistranslation at about 3:19. The instruction ATC gave the flight wasn’t “climb angle 20”, but “climb angels 20”.
“Angels” is military code for thousands of feet, so he’s ordering them to climb to 20,000 feet after takeoff.
Yay!
Thanks! Man, such a good episode. Going to miss this show after it ends next week. 🙁
great speed! thank you very much!
Why are there lyrics for the ED if there’s no vocals?
There’s still the Japanese karaoke on the screen, which the English lyrics are roughly analogous to.
Thanks!
Thanks for another episode. I don’t want to think about where they were shoving that passenger pod at the beginning!
@ 03:47 “This path has been tread before.” { … has been trodden before.}

Thanks for pointing it out.

The Japanese have a thing for butt-jokes.
