Look at her witch.
(Erratum after the break)
The translator Akatsukin here, I want to mention a couple errors in the subs. The first is in Arcturus Forest, where it’s mentioned that the whole area is protected. We put magic circle, but it’s actually a magic tree. This is totally my bad, no excuse for it. I misheard 魔法樹 as 魔法陣.
The second is the mandrake. Real (mythical?) mandrakes are actually poisonous, the ones from Flying Witch are poisonous, and Sucy is a poison master. However, according to the closed captions and the Witchpedia (updated conveniently after we finished), she says that they’re “man-eating mandrakes”, not “poisonous mandrakes”. The staff discussed this beforehand, and for some reason the audio during Sucy’s line cuts out so it sounds like 毒入 instead of 人食い. We decided to trust the audio over the CCs, but Witchpedia proves us wrong. Sorry.

Thanks so much!
Memes already in the announcement? This is going to be good.
Thanks for your work 😀
ABSOLUTELY BASED
Never noticed before but Shiny Chariot sort of looks like Izetta…
Anime saved?
anime saved.
Many thanks for the release! 🙂
Anime of the season is here! Thanks Asenshi!
Why is herkz autisticly shitting on the BS11 encode? Is there a better one out there that’s easy to get or something?
Thank you!
You’re as awesome as this show! Thanks a lot!
Thank you so much! I’m glad you took my recommendation about subbing LWA.
is it just me, or does the witch in the card look a bit like Izetta from Izetta, the last witch?..
So not even 900p because Trigger is still using based 576p for animation?
Thanks for saving anime.
Is this on 1080p or 720p ?
720p
Thanks
Thank you!
Fantastic Job! Thanks a lot!
I hope there is available for 1080p..
great job and thanks 😀
Thanks Asenshi, you guys are the best
Nice work guys, thought you did a nice job with the ED lyrics as well.
Can you recommend any fansubs for movies?
The only fansub releases are gg and Commie, so that’ll have to be the answer to your question.
There is a release of The Enchanted Parade by HorribleSubs.
That’s a rip of the official subs, which sadly enough are hot garbage.
Lotte mentioned someone whose name you translated as Yanne but the name is probably supposed to be Janne which is a common Finnish and Swedish name. Lotte herself probably belongs to the Swedish-speaking minority in Finland, based om her name (the author Tove Jansson of the moomins was also a Swedish speaking finn).
Yeah, that was a bad call on our part; see also the errata in the expanded release post. Thanks, though!
Another rare card spotted.
Probably too bright for the page, but it’s a collector’s item nonetheless.

Hot damn, that’s some beautiful stuff! It’s too beautiful not to use it, dark theme be damned. We’ll make sure to thank you in the next post, too!
Glad you like it.
It looks pretty fresh on the dark actually. I like the contrast.
If there are errors in the episode’s translation, can’t someone just go and fix it?
The errors in this episode are too minor to warrant a v2. We’ll have them fixed for the batch.
I think that this show has 2 cours (24 to 26)
It’s a split-cours show, yeah. We’ll start representing that in the status update starting with episode 2.
Thank you for your work! Are those magic words spelled correctly? “Kutchur Katela Flala” or “Cturca te Laflala”? The latter sounds like it… And re:mandrake, any Japanese-speaking folks would hear it “hito-kui” (man-eating) correctly, so trust it. [eraser] subs also came up with “man-eating” and they are correct.
Do you have a basis for Cturca te Laflala, or are you attempting to make it up yourself? LWA takes inspiration from many languages, and we can’t know them all.
I suppose [eraser] has a basis for Cturca te Laflala that was their translation, but I felt more comfortable with their wording; all three are actual words in some languages. Yours sounded good in one way, but I had a second thought. I hope that it get settled one way or the other; we have 25 episodes and we’ll hear more spells and it’s good to have certain rules of the game.
Best anime of the anime. Anime anim-ed right here.
200%
Nandato!/
NANI SORE?
I expect double the amount of signs
Akatsukin-sama,.. honestly, I dunno. I myself never asked eraser about what they think. It’s like more of a matter of choice but it’s also good to know what the original scripts were based on… whether it’s latin or anglo-saxon. Keep up the good work. Cheers!
Trust me, I was looking through Welsh and Gaelic dictionaries while researching early Anglo-Saxon runes when I was editing. I agree that there must be a system to the spells, but we simply haven’t discovered it yet; it doesn’t help that they’re enunciated by Japanese speakers who, more likely than not, aren’t experts on 12th century Welsh-Norman witch community sociolects. Until we actually figure it out, everybody attempting to make sense of them is spending their time on competitive crapshooting based on the kana CCs we get. For want of a much desired better guide, I at least made sure they follow mainline English morphology and phonology while attempting to make them look vaguely olden times English.
I’m like a lesser dragon with a sword run through the chest, oof…! Yours was very profound and now I trust you. ♥
Oh, please don’t misunderstand, your criticism is perfectly valid. It’s just that we really wish we had something better to base our spell translations on than just the CCs and the audio. Maybe the Witchpedia will be helpful at some point…
can you upload the subtitle files only?
