Idol Shoujo Magical Aaya, here to save the day!

I think Akira and Mirurun had a little bit of fun after the last round of Selector battles ended. Also we figured out that her name had to be Aaya, for reasons that will be obvious upon watching. And if you’re interested in what all the Signi names mean, I’d suggest heading over to the Wixoss Wikia. That should make it more obvious what all of the references are.

    >I assume this guy is the bookmaker, back from the dead after M3 to ruin everything again.
    What?
    What does it mean!?

Ianu said it first. The mysterious dude with the lollipop is almost definitely the Bookmaker, and Ianu thinks he looks like Natsuiri from M3 (plus that they both like lollipops).

I’m confused. Ril told Suzu in the first episode that she would disappear if all five of her coins turned black, so why is Suzu so surprised when it was explained to her by the blonde selector this episode?

Maybe ambiguity? I did rewatch episode 1 to make sure, and Ril says very clearly that “people are made up of their past experiences”. So you’d think it would be obvious that losing your coins/memories would result in losing yourself, but I think there was still some confusion from Suzu about the exact difference between “losing your memories” and “losing your identity/personality” and becoming a different person. There’s a difference between not being able to remember some events and having total retrograde amnesia.

That does seem to be the only way to explain Suzu’s surprised reaction in episode 3… However, at 11:12 in episode 1, Ril says “if all five become black, you will disappear”. I have little understanding of Japanese, but it sounds very literal and unambiguous. At 12:23, Suzu repeats it back to Ril, suggesting that she understands it.
I find it to be an annoying inconsistency, but I’ll keep watching.
